Operator Terms of Service
Version 1.3 · effective 26 October 2026
Article 1 (Who we are)
These terms govern the use of Canopy (canopy.travel, its subpages and apps, the "Service"), operated by Canopy (sole proprietorship, representative Changmin Oh, Korean business registration no. 655-16-02997, 8-1 Jwadong 2-gil, Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, Republic of Korea, email welcome@canopy.travel, the "Company"), by operators of tours and activities (the "Operator").
Article 2 (What the Service does)
- The Company provides tools for the Operator to list tours and activities, to give customers a page where they can book and pay in several languages, and to manage bookings. Details of the features are shown inside the Service, and the Company may add or change features.
- The Company is not a party to any booking. The contract for a tour or activity is between the Operator and the customer; the Company provides the means.
- The Company may offer some features in free or paid plans. Plan contents and prices are set out on the pricing page (canopy.travel/pricing).
Article 3 (Account)
- Only registered businesses (sole proprietors and companies) may use the Service. The Operator creates an account with an accurate email address and business name, and provides the business details the Company asks for (representative, address, contact details, business registration number, date business started and so on) before first publishing to customers.
- The account is used only by the Operator or people the Operator authorises. The Operator is responsible for keeping the password safe.
- The Operator lists only tours and activities it runs itself. Reselling other businesses’ products on their behalf is not allowed. If non-existent products, fake bookings or fraudulent payments are found, the Company may suspend the account immediately and inform the payment provider and the relevant authorities.
- An Operator’s first publication happens after the Company has checked its business details. The Company usually checks within 1 business day and, if the details cannot be confirmed, may ask for one official document such as a business registration certificate. If the details cannot be confirmed, the Company may decline to publish.
Article 4 (Operator responsibilities)
- The Operator is responsible for the accuracy of product descriptions, photos, prices, operating hours and cancellation policies, including content produced by automatic translation or processing or imported from other platforms, which the Operator checks before publishing.
- The Operator delivers confirmed bookings as described. If a booking cannot be delivered, the Operator informs the customer immediately and refunds in full.
- The Operator complies with the business licences, insurance, tax and consumer protection rules of its own country.
- The Operator uploads only photos and text it has the right to use.
Article 5 (Payments and fees)
- Customer payments go directly to the Operator's payment account through a payment provider supported by the Company. The Company does not hold customer money. Supported payment providers are shown inside the Service.
- The Company charges a fee on each booking paid through the Service. The fee rate and how it is calculated are set out on the pricing page (canopy.travel/pricing), and the rate in force is shown when the Operator turns on payments. Fees exclude VAT; for operators registered in the Republic of Korea, 10% VAT is added.
- The payment provider's fees, exchange rate differences and withdrawal charges are borne by the Operator under that provider's fee table.
- Where the customer pays only a deposit, the Operator collects the balance on site.
- If a fee rate or plan price increases, the Company gives 30 days' notice by email. The new rate applies to bookings received after that date.
Article 6 (Cancellations and refunds)
- The Operator sets the customer cancellation policy for each product, and it is shown as is on the customer page.
- When a customer cancels within the policy, the refund is paid from the Operator's payment account. The Company puts the fee it has already taken toward the refund first. If the refund is smaller than the fee, the difference is not returned.
- If the Operator cancels, the customer is refunded in full regardless of the reason, and the Company returns its fee in full.
- If a refund is delayed or blocked because the Operator's payment account balance is insufficient, the Operator is responsible.
- No refund is given when the customer does not show up. The Operator records attendance inside the Service.
Article 7 (Bookings subject to approval)
For products set to "confirm after approval", the Operator approves or declines each request within the period the Company states (currently 48 hours). If no answer is given within that period, the request is cancelled automatically and the customer is not charged.
Article 8 (Customer data)
- The Operator uses customer data received through a booking only to deliver that booking.
- The Operator does not use it for marketing or pass it to third parties without the customer's consent.
- The Operator complies with the data protection laws of its own country. The Company's processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
Article 9 (Prohibited conduct)
If any of the following is found, the Company may hide products from customers or suspend the account without prior notice. When a customer reports a problem, the Company may take the same steps after checking the report.
- False information, non-existent products, fake bookings
- Fraudulent payments, transactions suspected of money laundering
- Conduct that harms customers or other operators
- Scraping or attacking the Service without permission
- Products that break the law
- Impersonating another business or person
Article 10 (Limits of the Company's liability)
- The Service is provided as is. The Company is not liable for lost bookings or revenue caused by outages of external services such as hosting, databases or payment providers, to the extent the Company could not reasonably have prevented them.
- In any case the Company's liability does not exceed the total fees and charges the Operator paid to the Company in the preceding 12 months.
- The accuracy of automatic translation and automatic processing is not guaranteed. The Operator checks results before publishing.
Article 11 (Changes to and termination of the Service)
- The Company may add or change features. Changes that are unfavourable to the Operator are announced 30 days in advance.
- If the Company ends the Service, it gives 60 days' notice and lets the Operator download its data during that period.
Article 12 (Closing the account)
- The Operator may close the account at any time. Upcoming bookings must be dealt with first.
- When the account is closed, the public page is taken down immediately and data is deleted under the Privacy Policy.
Article 13 (Changes to these terms)
- The version and effective date are shown at the top of these terms. Changed terms are announced by email and inside the Service 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavourable to the Operator).
- Continuing to use the Service after the effective date counts as agreement to the changed terms. An Operator who does not agree may close the account.
- Previous versions remain available at canopy.travel/terms.
Article 14 (Language and governing law)
- These terms are provided in several languages. If translations differ, the English version prevails.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are first discussed through welcome@canopy.travel; if unresolved, the Seoul Central District Court has first-instance jurisdiction.
